Approximately 75% of autistic children have folate receptor auto antibodies. This means that there is plenty of folate (B9) in the blood, but not enough in the cerebral-spinal fluid. Folic acid actually makes the problem worse. Folinic acid (not folic) is required. Although there is a better pharmaceutical option available, this seems to be a decent over-the-counter option. Plus, it can be crushed with acceptable flavor and put in suspension/liquids.
