Wonderful product
Forget the packs of frozen peas - this has to be the best product ever for getting 'ice' on a swollen joint. Together with the cuff (sold separately) you can have immediate 'ice' on the joint in seconds. Very easy to use.Introduced to this system in hospital after knee replacement, and bought it from my hospital bed to await me at home. The cuff gets all around the joint and can be cooled in seconds from the cooler. Pricy but worth it when you are going to need to ice the joint for several months.

Aircast Cryocuff Cooler Review
My wife has just returned home after a full knee replacement procedure. Whilst in hospital the Cryocuff cooler was attached to her knee after the procedure. We were gifted the knee pad & tube but needed to buy the cooler itself which came with an additional tube. On attempting to connect the tube to the knee pad we found that it was not the correct fitting. Fortunately it did connect to the tube provided by the hospital and also to the cooler itself. So if you buy this product make sure you purchase the correct pad.....be it knee, shoulder or ankle etc. The product is excellent and we use it every time my wife walks or does any remedial exercise. Once you have attached the knee pad and fill it with the iced water the effect is immediate. Just make sure you follow the instructions and/or advice from medical staff. I have knee problems too and have just begun to use it myself. It has only been a couple of days but I would definitely recommend the product which thankfully also arrived a day earlier than the advised delivery date.

Excellent icing and compression
I had just got back from a knee operation when I thought about this.Having had knee problems for years I'd always been in the habit of icing up my knee with peas or various gel pads. They're nice and cold and do the job.Sooner or later someone always eats the peas(must taste terrible by then!)So after a bit of googling I came across this (bought the cuff for the knee separately) and honestly wish I'd bought it years ago.You strap the knee(or any other body part) cuff on, connect it to this(having filled the cooler with ice and water) then just raise the cooler above the height of the knee and let gravity fill the cuff. As it fills you feel it getting colder and compressing the knee as well, so you just let it carry until it gets to the level of compression you want. Then clip the hose off and you're done. After twenty minutes or so your bodyheat raises the temperature of the water in the cuff so its no longer chilling you. Then you reconnect the hose and drain the water back into the cooler. And it starts chilling it again.Once i fill it up with ice and water in the morning I dont have to put any more ice in it all day. It keeps it that cold and keeps rechilling basically all day long.Whilst its probably not recommended, Ive also found that once ive filled it and its fairly tightly compressed on my leg I can still move around if necessary and get other stuff done. - Definitely couldnt do that with a bag of peas!Ive told my friends about it too; whilst its not super cheap it feels like its worth its weight in gold.

Exactly what I wanted
When I had my total knee replacement , I was given a Kryo cuff to use to help reduce the swelling and whilst in hospital, the physios filled this using one of these coolers. When I left hospital I decided to buy the cooler so that I could use the cuff correctly. I am so pleased that I did. The cuff is so much easier (&safer) to use than ice. I freeze water in small freezer bags which just fit into the cooler perfectly and this provides me with very cold water throughout the day for the cuff. The cooler is very easy to use , just put water in up to the mark and then ice and attach to the cuff. It works through gravity so to fill you lift the cooler above the cuff and to empty it you put the cooler lower. I use this 3 or 4 times a day and am definitely benefitting from it - the swelling on my knee is certainly getting less.

What a relief
After having an operation on my leg i was sent home with a Donjoy leg strap and was told to put in the fridge, i done some googling and turns out i can buy the cooler to go with it!Hesitated at the price tag as its not mega money but enough if all i had to do was to place this in the fridge every time.As i have another op on my other leg coming up after recovering from this one i thought id just buy it and take a gamble.Well that gamble paid off, the cooling lasts a lot longer using this cooler rather than leaving in the fridge.Very easy to use simply fill with water upto the line then pour some ice in there, pop the lid on connect to the leg strap raise it up, open the valve and you instantly feel the cold something through!I received this in the morning put a handful amount of ice in there and its lasted all day on 1 fill of water and ice.You do have to keep draining the water back into the cooler then fill the strap back up again. If you are thinking about buying this just do it you will not regret it at all!Note: i did find this product much cheaper online almost half the price but it was out of stock.

Great for after knee replacement
Used this more than pain killers after surgery, 20min on 20min off , reduced the swelling as well.Simple idea, but great results.

Works better than pain killers
I had a complete shoulder replacement which was the most painful op I have ever had. This piece of kit was amazing. I am trying to get it back from my friend who borrowed it to sort out his hand which he damaged whilst boxing. ๐๐
