Great size and quality
I like how long the large pestle is. It lets my hand clear the top of the mortar without smacking it regularly. The capacity of the mortar seems perfect! I couldn't see a smaller one being very useful which makes me feel sorry for people who order 2 cup capacity sets. It has held up well after fairly heavy use and is well seasoned.If you want to use both of the pestles you will need to break them both in when you're first season it. It's a very labor intensive process, but it's a great opportunity to learn how to use your new tool!

Bigger than what I expected
When I got this item, I was shocked how big it was. Which is great! Good quality.

I have wanted one of these for years!
After struggling to make "proper" pesto with my very small motar and pestle, I bit the bullet and bought this giant. I LOVE it! (I rarely use the little guy anymore, even for a handful of smoked peppercorns.) And it is beautiful! I have porcelain counter tops, and it is sitting proudly on one of them. No need to find a spot in the cupboard for this beauty.

Good size mortar bowl
We really like the larger size of this mortar bowl because the ones available in stores were too small for our needs.

It's giftable if they are able to lift it
Works well, and cleans up easily. I decided not to use soap on/in it I am only cleaning with hot water and if needed I will grind some rice in it.

Very sturdy and unlike other reviews didn't see any flakes coming off. Good value
