Third brake light Ford
Needed a way to get my topper’s brake light working. This did the trick and didn’t cause tow haul mode or Ford Bliss blind spot monitoring issues. Install is time consuming if you want todo it right with weather proof butt connectors, but it was worth it to have the third brake light working! Zipped tied it up on the frame and have extra turn signal wires if I ever want them. Also a unique feature is the third brake light will flash with hazards, which is a safety plus!!

Just what I needed
I've been slowly putting together a harbor freight trailer. I had wired it knowing I wanted to add extra lights later. So I had short wires split going towards the back to add the lights later. I wanted lights that had reverse lights and separate turning lights, from the brake lights. I bought these (Agrieyes 6 Inch Oval LED Trailer Lights, Submersible Boat Trailer Light, with Brake, Turning Signal, Reverse Light, Backup Light, DOT Compliant https://a.co/d/inNU3JyBut using a 4 pin setup they wouldn't fully function the way I wanted. So I ended up buying this Curt item. I knew it wouldn't operate the trailer lights already installed the way I wanted it. So I ended up wiring this after the regular trailer lights using the wiring I had already ran for the extra lights I was adding. It worked perfect on the lights I added. I have separate brake, running lights, turn signal and reverse lights. I should mention that I had ran a reverse wire when I wired the trailer. It's awesome. So happy I took the time to do this. Is there an easier way to do this? Probably. But this worked out great for me.

Works great
I'm using two of these now. One on the vehicle wired to accessory under tailgate lights with separate turn and brake lighting and one on a trailer with separate turn and brake lighting. Works great. Also, all my lighting is LED and I don't notice any descrempancies at this time. I say that because I know it's mainly used for regular filament lighting and many report delay or flashing between circuits. Either I haven't taken a close enough look or that is not an issue but everything seems to work fine. I cannot comment on longevity with having the first one for less than a year, but I do know the double sided mounting tape is terrible and falls off within minutes even after cleaning the mounting surface so it needs some form of better securement.

Works with LED lights... mostly
I added a dual swingout bumper to my truck, and the tire and jerry can carriers block the tail lights. The new bumper has cut-outs for the Roadvision 3-way lights, but did not come with wiring. Rather than tap the wires I decided to use the 7-pin trailer plug as it's plug-and-play.Pros:- Works (mostly) perfectly with the Roadvision LED lights. I can't guarantee it'll work with all LED lights but it does work with these.Cons:- The relay makes a fairly loud click each time it activates.- There is a small delay, maybe 100 milliseconds, when activating the brake lights. This is likely due to how long it takes for the relay to energize- With LED lights, the turn signals may start to light up before the relay activates. In my case when I step on the brake the turn signal lights have an almost imperceptible flicker before the relay activates and the brake light comes on. This wouldn't be an issue with incandescent lights, but the LEDs are so responsive that it happens. I'm not an electrical engineer but I suspect some sort of resistor or other way to slow the turn signal a fraction of a second would prevent this.Other:- I can't tell if the relay is waterproof so I ended up mounting it inside the vehicleOverall I'm happy with this device for my purpose, though if the relay ever fails due to the brief flicker I get described above I'd likely just remove this and tap the turn and brake lights.

Works Perfectly! Separated my brake lights from turn signals on my Ford for a 3rd brake light.
The media could not be loaded. This device works exactly as stated. It allowed me to split my brake and turn signals on my Ford Explorer Sport Trac into separate wires. I used this to install an additional 3rd brake light at my trailer hitch. I purchased an additional 4-plug tow wiring harness and spliced the CURT converter in between the plugs. I can easily remove the light and hook up my trailer (with lights) when needed. When I initially installed the hitch light, it would blink with the turn signals. This CURT converter - 56196 allowed for the brake light to work independently from the blinkers.I'm very pleased with this product:CURT 56196 2-to-3-Wire Taillight ConverterSUN Trailer Wire Plug 32” 4 Way Flat 4 Pin Universal Wiring Connector:NEW SUN Trailer Wire Plug 32" 4 Way Flat 4 Pin Universal Wiring ConnectorFlash Strobe Controller Flasher Module for LED Brake Tail Stop Light 12-16V:Qiorange Flash Strobe Controller Flasher Module for LED Brake Tail Stop Light 12-16ViJDMTOY Smoked Lens 12-LED Super Bright Brake Light Trailer Hitch Cover Fit Towing & Hauling 2" Standard Size Receiver For Truck SUV RV, etc:iJDMTOY Smoked Lens 12-LED Super Bright Brake Light Trailer Hitch Cover Fit Towing & Hauling 2" Standard Size Receiver For Truck SUV RV, etc

Curt is a good brand, but this product is a miss
I often buy Curt because I know the brand. This time it was the wrong choice. Wired up everything and the brakes and turn signals didnt work. Decided to get the top rated brand on amazon and wired it exactly the same and everything worked as expected.

Provides intended results.
Does work with led- contrary to what the box says, just have to add resistors to get them to blink at the regular speed. Otherwise the tunsignals blink too fast. Also, the hazard lights will come through the brake light bulbs, since they activate at the same time the box thinks they're brakes.
