Charger Cable Protector for MacBook - Adapter Cable Saver Compatible with 45W/60W/85W

I've been using this product on my cable for 5 months. Bought one for my husband's new charger and figured I might as well use one too. I don't recall any damage or abnormalities to my wire prior to using this item. Recently started to notice small tears on the wire. When I took the cable protector off, I could see the wire was fried. Thought this item was supposed to prevent that from happening....BUT.....I can't rule out the possibility that the cable had already begun to weaken before I used the protector. My concern is that this item covers any potential damage that could be happening. If I had known the wire was starting to fray, I might have been able to prolong its life with a little electrical tape. Mixed feelings on this product. I'm off to buy a new cable, and I might as well buy this product again to go with it. Sadly, the product is not reusable due to the strong adhesive. Please note, however, that you CAN pop the non-adhesive side off the product to inspect your cable and then click it back into place.Verdict: Some protection is better than nothing at all. Use common sense and check your wire thoroughly if abnormalities arise.

After my previous MacBook charger frayed and became beyond repair, I purchased another and did not want it to break in a similar fashion.I purchased two sets of these wire sleeves so that I am able to cover the entire charger wire as the wire can become split at any point. I have had these on for a few months now and they have kept the wire from kinking or breaking and make the wire feel far more sturdy. Would highly recommend spending on these to avoid higher replacement costs for Apple's poorly designed cables.
