Quality is as expected and Top Notch.
I set it in my Living Room. Room Size is 16ft x 12ft and output is top notch. Proper Cinema like setup even with 5.1 Surround. You don't need to go beyond 6 channels of room size is equivalent. I'm giving you a trick, if you have older 2.1 channel speaker system then you can attach them in it's front channels. You don't need pre-out subwoofer separately for this. It works awesome. For surround channel and center channel I bought Yamaha NS P-51 which is good companion for this AVR.But yes you must be having 6 inches front speakers with minimum 130 Watt RMS Peak. AVR decodes all the Dolby and DTS modes. Also I took Digital Out (Optical Fiber) from my TV and set top box HDMI directly goes into AVR and through AVR it goes into TV for 4K Pass.4K pass will only work properly if your native source's resolution is 4K. AVR is not about to upscale 4K but it enhances the experience. Otherwise sound compatibility is Splendid. You must but it if you're a Surround Sound Lover and want Cinema Experience at home. One more thing I want to address that I'm listening youtube videos from my TV using Digital Out and in that scenario AVR is capable to decode surround very well. For instance, you can play official Dolby intros via same setup I said. Thanks for reading.

Budget Receiver
Liked the sound quality its good for startars, very budget friendly with 4k passthrough, can make a very good 5.1 ch home theater setup if paired with good quality and compatible speaker setup. please check the speaker compatibility before connecting to your speakers.
