Q: does this unit pass the bias voltage through or does it block it?

When powering via bias tee or externally, voltage is not passed through to the input of the LNA. There will be voltage present at the output when powering externally (through the micro USB port). Q: Is the SMA DC block required for use with this amplifier with a Nooelec RTL-SDR?

Q: Could I use this on a base station ham radio?

使いやすい、短波帯でも使えそう

特性をnanoVNAで測定してみましたゲインは10dB程度で低めに出ていますが周波数特性は特に低周波数側は3MHz程度まで使えそうです（短波帯の受信での確認はしていません）実際の受信は144MHzのアマ無線、FM放送波、ADS-Bの受信でしか確認していませんが何れも良好ですダイナミックレンジが広いようで広帯域のアンテナを使った場合でも特にフィルタなしでも受信が改善されるのは良いですね

とりあえず効果はありました

山間部の弱電界地帯です。今まで聴こえなかった航空管制の地上側も聴こえるようになりました。ただ強電界では試していません。

920MHzと2.4GHz帯のフィールドワークで使用したところ、そこそこの増幅率が得られました。電源供給はPCからです。

bias-tee経由での電源供給ができると記載あるが、動かない。外部電源供給だとLED点灯するけど、動かない。多分、壊れている。

衛星のLバンドでは…

衛星のLバンド受信に使うとゲインが悪い。でも、他の周波数帯では増幅されるので今は別の周波数帯で使用してます。日本のAmazonでNooelec SAWbird iOを個別で販売してくれると助かります。笑
