The product is undoubtedly good.I bought this after a lot of research. This is a mid-range router with high-end features at an affordable price. No other router came close to the features of this product at this price.D-Link is a Taiwanese brand. The first item I bought was defective and had to be replaced. The replacement has so far met my expectations.1. First delivery:The first item was actually a router which must have been returned by someone using ACTFIBERNET. After receiving I ran the setup and set it up as an access point (to use it as secondary router). It was a D-Link router alright and it worked well but I was unable to see the transmission torrent client (tr-069), the DLNA server, or the UPNP server. So I reset the router but the wifi network names got automatically set to ACTFIBERNET. D-Link must have supplied the router to ACTFIBERNET for usage in their broadband connections, and for this must have overridden certain aspects of the firmware (firmware version 3.0.6) like disabling torrent etc. After resetting I could not login (as the password must have been set for ACT technicians) so I ordered a replacement.2. Second delivery (replacement router)The second time while setting up the router I mistakenly set it to router mode (not access point mode) and then chose to configured it manually (instead by the wizard). This time I was able to see the transmission torrent client, DLNA and UPNP servers. Everything works amazingly now and I am happy with the purchase. I even reset the product to check if it is not a repackaged product and it still worked with all features.Speed and coverage:I checked the speed of the router and it was well above my expectations. I have a 225 Mbps connection and the speed on 5 GHz network was above 220. On the 2.4 GHz network it was close to 70 Mbps. The 5 GHz band is supposed to be short range and is ideal for high bandwidth usage like TV. In my case the 2.4 GHz network was available with above 50% strength upto 30 feet radius including walls. The 5 GHz network was available with more than 50 % strength upto 15 feet radius. The network did not fluctuate and the router didn't reset automatically.The reason for high speeds is that this router's WAN and LAN ports are gigabit ports. In many other alternative products like Netgear and TP-link the WAN ports are high speed ports (not gigabit) which curtail bandwidth.The impressive thing about this product was that its DLNA/FTP/torrent clients work flawlessly. Using the DLNA server any DLNA compatible TV can run content from USB storage connected to the router. The mobile app (android) also works well.The setting up of this router can be a pain. But when you get it to work it is a great product. Also I find it truly insulting to the engineers who created this product that some ignorant salespeople of Dlink/seller had repackaged a returned product and sold it. It just damages the reputation and hard work of the product creators.I am still giving this router full marks because as a product it works well. The issues with shipping and repackaging should not really affect this product's rating.

Good product to look for this type of issues where connectivity is important

I got this for 1.8k and this perhaps the best dual band router gigabit ports around 2k.I am running fibre optic internet but with old router hence was getting capped speed. Now getting the plan advertised full speed for 150mbps!Coverage area is also nice..Big thumbs up!

Excellent Router. Works well, It has Gigabit ethernet ports for wired transfers above 100mbps. I previously had DIR806IN which has no wall screw mount option(had to by a stand) . While this one has 2 hinges to mount on wall. The only drawback is this lacks a USB port so that I can connect my old legacy printerand many other tasks. Overall good router for my medium sized 2BHK independent home.

The media could not be loaded. Worst router i have ever seen in my life. It is not connecting since I purchased in February 2025 it barely connect and disconnect automatically I took advise from IT expert in my office as well and they checked it and found defected peace. It should be replaced and I am trying for it with D-Link team.

I bought this router to make access point. I is working effectively and super easy setup. This is very well with zero drop in speed and largely coverage my house is 2700 sq feet, and this is covering largely.Earlier this model came with USB. However USB has been removed in latest models,so please refer the specificication I made this mistake.Lastly pricing, I m not happy, pricing fluctuate I bought the same 2100/- whereas, after two days price droped. Please watch the prices carefully to get better deal.

So I have been using this router for about 5 months and the issue with this is its range as many of the other reviews have also mentioned that the range is less yes it is indeed true and this router struggles in 1000sqft house and signal levels fluctuate heavily sometimes at the same place I get decent speeds at certain time it doesn't even connect the router has good functionality I am using it as a wisp extender for normal people as a repeater to repeat my Airtel wifi but the airtel one outshines this by a heavy margin and for someone needing wired connection the wired connection of all D-Link products are good I also have D-Link dir 615 and it's 2.4 ghz range is extremely powerful almost twice of dir 825 I will say that no router in this price range has good range. And yes this router runs on 1.0.4 firmware version with support for easymesh I know many people need this so here you go. Tx Power on both band is 20dbm.
