Helping Hands Soldering Station, Lytool Third Hand Soldering Tool with 3X Magnifying Glass Dimmable LED, Flexible Helping Hands Soldering with 4 Flexible for Welding Repair Hobby DIY

I was wondering whether this helping hand devise would live up to its promises. I am disabled and have very painful and weak hands and have been finding soldering very difficult, hence the purchase.The device arrived in a sturdy box, it had a little book with 2 pages of instructions per language, not that it was ever going to be difficult to put together. The items to be put together were all nicely packed to protect them, and it took me only 10 minutes to put together.The crocodile clips have rubber shrunk wrapped onto them to protect the items being held, which works well, the bendy arms all hold well and the position they are put at is where they stay, which is a must in my book.The light is very good and has 3 colours, very white, slight warm (which I like most) and very warm which is easy on your eyes at the end of the day. Light intensity is variable over a wide range and gives all the light you will ever need.The magnifying glass is of good quality and I found it to give enough magnification to see even very small details, I was pleased that it did what it should do unlike many lenses that promise but never deliver. I would have liked the lens to have been of a larger diameter, maybe 4 cm, but that is just my preference, it still does it's job very well. An improvement to the design would be a ball joint from the magnifying glass to its arm, just to make placing of the lens a little bit easier, it's not hard but for my hands it would be of some help, for most people I don't see it as a problem.The unit came with 2 spare Croc clips that was a nice touch.Conclusion;A very sturdy, and useful helping hand, it has made a significant improvement to my soldering and it lives up to its hype. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a helping hand while soldering or indeed any other craft pursuit etc. The alterations to the device I have suggested are all down to personal preference, if that was taken out of the equation this would be perfect.I give this a score of 9.9 out of 10, I love it.

Bought this extra hands to help with my model making kits easy to build together really well made and strong comes with screwdriver to build it together this holds my pieces very delicately because of the soft rubber grips the magnifying glass is very powerful and really helps with close up jobs and with having a light that is very bright make the job a lot easier really good price so very happy thanks

I would've thought this would be flexible and up to the simple job of holding a small PCB (as shown in the product picture) but no it doesn't. You have very limited movement in the "arms" they are no way nearly as flexible as the picture implies in fact they work against you when you're trying to get the right bit under the magnifying glass and always resume the position they want rather than the one you need.The arm holding the magnifying glass itself is not rigid enough to support its weight so flops down unable to hold the position you want so instead you have to position yourself where the magnifying glass has positioned itself in order to get a view of whatever you're trying to solder. It's rubbish. Having said that the light in the magnifying glass itself is good, but not worth the money just for a light, the rest is junk.

Very useful hold printed circuit boards at any angle and the light helps when a close light is neededThe are two problems with the system >> 1. The assembly screws are a size small, in that they are do not have the thread weight to hold the springs tightly. Indeed one screw did not tighten up at all, I needed to re-thread this to M4. Eventually all of the others will have to be rethreaded to M4 as well2. The jaws of the croc lips needed extra padding to avoid scratching the printed circuit boards, the supplied padding is to thin

Provides extra set of hands for both soldering and modelling.Constructed from metal not plastic make it a very robust product. I have had similar items in the past which have cost more and have had plastic parts which did not last. The base plate is also heavy enough to provide stability.Arms are very manouvarable and hold their position even when holding a reasonable weight.Rubber grips on crocodile clips protect item being held from scratchesMagnifying glass has a reasonable magnification. Th built-in variable brightness light is great for illuminating models when painting

Same issue as some of the other reviews. Most of the arms attachment threads don't catch on the screws with the legs attached. Fixed this issue by screwing the arms on with small nuts as spacers and doubling up spacers on the other arms, ti achieve a tight fit and the I stuck the legs with super glue to the base next to the screw wholes. If your an engineer, mechanic or diy'er with some know how it's a cheap easy purchase. If not don't waste your money. Clips, magnifying glass and light work as advertised.

As someone whos eyesight isnt what it used to be i need a bit if extra help. It come flat packed but only took me a couple of minutes to assesmble. I love the fact they provided extra clips which are all plastic coated to not damage your work. The goose necks are easy to position but strong enough that they won't move even if you knock them and the base is heaviy enough not to worry about tipping over The light just plugs into a ubs charger or power bank. The colour temp can be adjusted to suit your needs and brightness can be adjusted in multi steps. For my needs I found half brightness plenty. The magnifier itself has no distortion and is powerful enough to let me see exactly what I am soldering
