Our family doctor (understandably) has been doing more virtual appointments due to the COVID-19 outbreak. When asked if we could take our own temperature, we could not find our digital thermometer anywhere. We thought the infrared thermometer was a good idea as it did not require touch or insertion, just in case someone was sick, and the readings were instant.Understanding that items may be somewhat backed up due to COVID-19, I was happy to see that Amazon showed this product "In Stock", unlike many of its competitors. One interesting point is that when I originally purchased the thermometer, it did NOT read "ANTV Amplified Outdoor HDTV Antenna...." This would have created too much suspicion for me, especially with a $$70.99 price tag. So, at some point after receiving payment, the description did change to an Antenna, although the images and description were clearly an infrared thermometer, so I took my chances and let it ride.A month after ordering, the item finally showed up and I was happy to see that it was indeed a thermometer.Initial impression: Product is cheaply made and, although the initial image and the product description say "2 batteries", there were none in the packaging. Upon installing two triple A (AAA) batteries, the unit powered up with the pull of the trigger. By default, it reads in Celsius but, by holding the speaker button for seven seconds, you can switch to Fahrenheit, and take the reading again.The device does not remember your setting, so you either have to learn to read Celsius or change the setting every time you want to use the thermometer. Also, when holding the scanner and pulling the trigger, the latch / catch on the battery door (located at the base of the handle) likes to come open, dumping the batteries on the floor.So...I guess it'll do until a better quality unit is available at my local drug store. I do not believe this device is worth anywhere near the $71.00 I paid for it. In hind site, I should have replaced my $12 oral thermometer and added a bottle of rubbing alcohol to keep it sterile.Would not recommend.

I do not find this an easy thermometer to use because it keeps changing back to celsius and is difficult to change settings on. I wish it could just be set once and keep the settings. Also, I finally get it to where it has the voice readout working and next time I use it, it is back to celsius and no voice.

This is not accurate. It measures atleast 1 degree less than any other forehead thermometer. I brought it to the dr office and compared it with the drs forhead thermometer. It did not read anywhere near the same.Very disappointing because I really like the design.

I compared this to three other thermometers: An oral, and two different “wand” style forehead thermometers. It’s within a degree if used properly. However, I wouldn’t use it as a default. I’ve decided to put it in my toolbox and use it at the racetrack for brake and tire temps. My kids will get the tried and true oral thermometers when sickness hits.

I love this thermometer. I have three kids and three different thermometers at home. They often get sick all at the same time and we need these handy. Even toddlers can use this since it tells you whether your temperature is "normal" or not. It helps when parents are tired and it is late at night too since it lights up and reads you the temperature.

It's super easy to use. I'm surprised that this thermometer can test the surface temperature as well, this is useful when i am cooking. It's also a smart item, it has voice function, would tell you what's the temperature.

I ordered this thermometer for my baby and impressed with how quick it read and how easy it use. No need to touch the skin, just hit a button, the thermometer can give a reading in one or two second plus you also can chose a voice report or not. I tried several times, the reading is accurate and the variation is small. BTY, This thermometer size is small and it's perfect for my hand. It's a good buy, I like it.

I reviced it a couple days ago, and compare the results with my Welch Allyn Sure Temp that I have in my consult office and the readings were almost the same, and is really easy to use when you have a fussy sick toddler, so 5 stars from me.
