Q: Does the jar hold a full gallon of water with coffee in the filter?

I believe the answer is no, not quite, but close. I've never measured it but when I make cold brewed coffee, I transfer it to 750ml jars which are about 26 ounces each and I get 4 jars and about 8- or 10-ounces leftover so it's about 114 ounces total whereas a US gallon is 128 ounces.

We recommend between 1.5 cups - 2 cups of coffee grounds depending on your preference and brewing for at least 12 hours. For tea, we recommend using one teaspoon (around 2g) per cup of tea, or two per cup if you're brewing white tea.

As a regular coffee maker (it's my job) if the purpose of you purchasing this product is specifically to make cold brew, you do not need hot water. To make ice coffee, you will need to just perk coffee like normal and then pour it over ice. In this regard, if the manufacturers does not recommend hot water and beverages, then I would just suggest to just use this product to dispense your already made iced coffee. And same suit follows with iced tea. A little side note, you could make sun tea with this, and I think it will be better for the product longevity because of the gradual increase of temperature. Lid

I love making cold coffee we use it every other day to make a batch of cold coffee but I was wondering where we can get another cover as this one I’m using is rusted so I now have to put plastic wrap between the lid cover and jar

Filter Ring not attached

Like the overall quality and design, my only problem is like many others the filter has come with the top ring broken off, which means the filter doesn't stay lifted off the bottom of the jar, only solution we've had is to bend the inside of the ring to hold onto the filter not impressed with this sort of money.

The lid

The lid got stuck, couldnt get it off, ended up sawing it off. The filter is not stainless. Tastes funny, its an okay product, other than what I stated.

Damaged

This arrived damaged. Lid bent will not fit. Product seems good. But mines useless. Would return but live remote not worth the drive.. has nice filter.
