Surprisingly stellar!!
After the sadness and end of my Shure M44-7 cart, I was faced with choosing a new setup. A few friends who spin recommended the Reloop Concorde but I wasn’t entirely convinced. After weighing my options, I decided to try one out. Upon arrival it became apparent that this well boxed cart was made by Ortofon (which was a surprise). Setup was extremely easy, and after adding 3.5 grams of tracking force, I tried it out on a few albums. WOW!! Across the board this is one well balanced cart and stylus. The lows are punchy, the highs clear and broad, and the mids were somewhat well balanced. I’d say the only area it could use a bit of a boost is in its mids but that’s truly being finicky. Overall this is a fantastic cart for the price and I’m extremely pleased. I tried some basic scratching and beat matching and it performed well. That being said I can’t recommend the Reloop Concorde enough. For both DJ’ing and casual use, this will serve almost everyone very well. Extremely picky audiophiles should keep buying their $900 carts. The rest of us will be extremely pleased with this one for all uses.
