Can have big cost reductions
* PhysicalI have (use of Flash Drive 1) used a SanDisk 32 Gig 3.0 thumb drive as part of a built-in Windows Recovery system. This took over 4 hours to build. Interestingly, it's taken the SAME time as using this USB 3 thumb drive as an Integral 64 Gig, USB 2.0 pen drive with my Ashampoo Backup Pro 26.3. (The use of Flash Drive 2) To create a fresh system image of Windows 10 on my Ashampoo, I was required to shut down the ReadyBoost utility and turn it off through File Explorer this time. I was free to reinstall this after the system image was created. So its advantages are more subtle than I first thought. The speed of your downloaded or uploaded files, even between home ports on your PC, can vary a lot. Which can be dependent on your hardware, connection speeds, what your computer is doing, and the state of your OS.I have reinstalled Windows 10 Pro using guidance from YouTube videos. I used the method to preserve personal files and applications. To download the latest Windows 10 image and then apply its many updates took 5 1/2 hours to complete. So don't clock watch. I also needed to reboot several times to get the updates coordinated. But it's like a new machine. If your PC is slow. Do a backup of the system as it is. Then, apply the reinstallation of Windows 10. You could be surprised by the difference this makes to Windows 10 in several ways. It takes several days for these changes to work through the system. Another method to speed up a whole operating Windows 10 system, after a fresh installation, is to use Administrative Tools / Defragment and Optimise Drives. It's a real help. The reinstallation of Windows 10, preserving my files. Using ReadyBoost and a 64 Gig USB 3.0 Pendrive formatted with NTFS has boosted my PC's stability and responsiveness. (Use of Flash Drive 3). You can format the USB 3.0 drive with FAT32, but due to limits within FAT32, this cache will be limited to 4Gb cache. ReadyBoost has been around since Windows Vista. If you're driving Windows 11, then it's not going to help you, as you have enough technical knowledge to work fine. Together, these techniques have made my PC feel fresher! To use a USB drive for this, it is suggested to format the 32 Gig thumb drive with NTFS, then select File Explorer / This PC / pick a USB port / Properties / ReadyBoost tab / Dedicate This Device to ReadyBoost / Apply / OK. Please note that you must NOT remove the ReadyBoost thumb drive without first turning this method off in File Explorer / This PC / the name of your thumb drive / Properties / ReadyBoost tab / Do not use this device/ Apply / OK. This is due to this thumb drive is used by Windows 10 as a cache of often-used code, to minimise time to access these files. If you do remove this thumb drive without turning ReadyBoost off in File Explorer, you will probably need to reinstall Windows 10, I am afraid. I have seen this happen with other people's machines. So that you know, it's normal for a 32 GB pendrive when applied to ReadyBoost to be red. It just means that the space unused is less than 10% of the maximum size of this thumb drive. I used a 64 Gig thumb drive this time. If your device SSD or HDD also shows red, it's time to make space of this drive to make it perform better with more space available.* Update 20 November 2024It's a good, cheap idea to buy for others you care about, brothers, sisters, birthdays and Xmas. These USB pen drives are always handy. Eventually. It's your choice, but I recommend 64 GB or higher, USB 3.0+ thumb drives* Update 09 May 2025One drive I tested is faulty.

SanDisk Ultra 64GB
Reliable, Fast, and Great Value for Money!I’ve been using the **SanDisk Ultra 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive** for a few weeks now, and it has exceeded my expectations. The **transfer speeds are excellent**, especially when copying large files. While the advertised speed is **up to 130MB/s read**, I consistently get around **90-110MB/s** when transferring videos and documents on my laptop. It’s a significant improvement over my old USB 2.0 drives!**Pros:**✅ **Fast Transfer Speeds** – Large files transfer quickly, saving time.✅ **Ample Storage** – 64GB is more than enough for documents, videos, and backups.✅ **Compact & Lightweight** – Easy to carry on a keychain or in a pocket.✅ **Durable Build** – The plastic body feels sturdy, and the retractable design protects the USB connector.✅ **Plug & Play** – Works instantly on Windows, Mac, and even some smart TVs.**Cons:**⚠ **No LED Indicator** – A small light to show activity would be nice.⚠ **Plastic Build** – While sturdy, a metal casing would feel even more premium.Overall, for the **price, performance, and reliability**, this **SanDisk Ultra 64GB USB 3.0 drive** is an **excellent choice** for students, professionals, or anyone who needs a dependable flash drive. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Good USB sticks, a finicky slider to get them out
Very good USB sticks and of a nice size. I must comment on the finicky slider to get the actual USB out as the slider isn't particularly grippy and can be difficult to get out. The colour is a glossy black with a more matte patterned design in the middle. They're made of plastic. They don't appear particularly durable but then again, it'll be fine for normal use. In terms of heat, they do get a little hot when doing lots of writing to the USB, nothing to scare though. They are very functional and do the job fine.

I Bought These USB Sticks and Now I Feel Like a Data Wizard
I thought I was just buying USB sticks. I had no idea I was about to acquire pocket-sized superpowers. The SanDisk Ultra 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive isn’t just storage—it’s a time machine, a lifesaver, and possibly the best decision I’ve made since learning to back up my files. With 130MB/s transfer speeds, this thing moves data so fast, I half expect it to break the space-time continuum.Need to transfer a movie? Done in seconds.Massive work files? Blink and they’re already on there.Your entire digital existence? Securely tucked inside this tiny, sleek, black vault of technological wizardry. And let's talk about protection—password encryption keeps my files safer than a dragon guarding treasure, and the included RescuePRO Deluxe software means even if I accidentally delete something, I can bring it back from the digital afterlife.Oh, and this is a triple pack. That means I now have one for work, one for personal files, and one that will inevitably disappear into the mysterious void where USB sticks go—only to reappear six months later in my jacket pocket.Punchline? I thought I was buying storage. Turns out, I was buying peace of mind, speed, and a backup plan for my backup plan.If you still rely on slow, unreliable drives, upgrade your life. Future You will thank you.
