The NACH Cast Iron Matchbox Holder combines a stunning Victorian design with practical functionality. This wall-mounted holder fits most 'strike anywhere' match boxes and features a rustic semi-gloss finish, making it an ideal decorative storage solution for both indoor and covered outdoor settings.

Great holder with one minor flaw
This holder is made solidly. It is fairly heavy. No place to access striker plate on holder, so you need strike anywhere matches ( I bought on line since I could not find in a store). My one gripe is you must either remove the lid or unscrew the holder from the wall to change match boxes. The lid doesn't go all the way up when attached to the wall. I just left it off. Ornamental only.

Beautifully classic and useful in the kitchen
I use this item a minimum if ten times a day. Cooking (gas stove and I can't be bothered replacing the ignitor. I have matches), to light my pipe or cigar and, in the last storm, even to see my way to the candle box!It is of beautiful quality. Heavy, well cast and solid. And, with strike anywhere matches, you just run them across the bottom of the dispenser and boom! Let there be light! My grandmother would be proud!

Gotta match?
This item surprised me. It's very heavy for what it is I'd say it's about 4 or 5 lb. Feels like solid cast iron and it's very ornate for something that holds matches. Very pleased with the purchase given the price.

Looks Great
This was just what I wanted. Looks great on the wall. Make sure to put the top in before screwing it into the wall. Holds a full box of matches plus some. We start the wood stove everyday and this is perfect.

Beautiful but has one glaring flaw
I liked it. It is real heavy duty cast iron and looks quite nice on my wall. However, the glaring flaw is that it doesn’t have holes in the side for striking the matches and since strike anywhere matches are harder and harder to find, my husband just had to tape some striker paper to the side of the box which doesn’t look as nice.

instructions would help.
This is a gift for a cousin in England, and it looks great. However, a small sheet of instructions would be helpful as I never had one of these before and was unsure at first where the smaller piece fit. I finally figured it out and have it ready to be shipped. This is really neat. Thank you.Elizabeth McMillen

I wanted to love this but design flawed
To put matches in this almost requires that the cast iron holder is unmounted from the wall. The door that the box of matches fits into can't open all the way, so you have to partially smash the box the get it down into position. It sure is pretty but is not at all functional.

Good product, does what it's supposed to.
I certainly does what it was designed to do ... nothing fancy. It is a bit of a rough pour but adds to the aged vintage look . It seems rugged enough and does lend that old fashioned quality to the kitchen where it is hung by the old wood stove.

Needs a little grinding.
I love the rough cast rustic look BUT there was some slag/overcast that made it impossible to slide in a box of matches without serious crushing and distortion. Easy fix with a Dremel or hand files. This may also be the issue with reviews that say the lid does not fully open, but mine was fine. Packaging was non existant so I was surprised it arrived intact. No mounting screws provided, but black drywall screws look good with it.

I like it looks great and holds matches
I haven’t tried it out yet ! Looks good ! I read the reviews after I bought it , should work fine with strike any where matches or tape striker strip to side of it ! everything that I have to light with a match isn’t that close to the box anyways !

It's a beautiful reproduction.
Well made of wrought iron. It looks original, I recommend this product for anyone looking for a taste of nostalgia. Mine is going in the Bathroom. Yes, the smell of sulfur dioxide masks the gaseous stench coming from flatulence and feces. Google it for details and how to's.
