Stores don't really carry this size anymore, so Amazon was the fastest method to get one. Price wise, it was similar to store price, so why not right? My house is 20 years old, all the grates are as old as the house. They still look more sturdy and higher quality than this junk does. The slats are extra thick, the body of it is clunky as can be for no reason. It just looks cheap. It's in a highly visible area and irks me every time I walk passed it.

The return air grille I received has two rows of vents, not three, and fewer "fins" than pictured in the product photo. However, the description is accurate about this in that there are 12 fins 1/2-inch apart. The result is that the inside of the unattractive ducting is clearly visible through the grille. The screw holes are not recessed as described, and there was no protective cardboard included in the packaging. Fortunately it arrived undamaged in the padded envelope.

I ordered this to cover a hold an electrician cut in my drywall to access wires for a hot tub install. We needed a way to temp. close the hole and he suggested an access cover. This worked much better because of the irregular size of the opening. I got this size because I was able to drill into my 16 inch on center framing studs. Looks totally normal now.

The screw holes drilled in this are about 1/4 inch off (too wide), so if you're trying to replace an existing grill, it is maddening. Went to Home Depot and got a different grill (same size) and didn't have that problem (so it seems to be an issue with this particular grill, not whoever installed the first one in my house).

First off, these are metal (not plastic) and given the price point they are an excellent value. I would consider these 'builder grade' grille's. They are substantial enough that I can rate them higher than the Big Box Stores, but not as high as the cast brass ones (which cost stupid money). They are an excellent upgrade if you have old faded or beat up grilles. Easy and fast install (took me less than a few minutes each). They do include white painted screws, which is better than some. I'm quite happy with these!

I bought these to replace two old beat up returns when I got done painting, it took a few tries to get the right size....not products fault, but the one doing the measuring! Lol I had trouble putting it on the wall, again not products fault just not good structure to work with behind and previous owner had done something to the wall that made a challenge! However after all said and done, finished product works and looks just fine!

Solid grill. Exactly what was expected! Very happy.

good for the price, only place I could find a size close to the original.
