YoLinkGarage Door Controller and Wireless Sensor - Remote Control Existing Garage Door Opener, 1/4 Mile World's Longest Range Garage Door Control Kit Compatible with Alexa IFTTT, YoLink Hub Required

Bought this solution from YoLink to replace my Tailwind garage door opener (which I loved but ultimately it became unreliable over time - another story). Installation was pretty and straight forward. Setup was a bit bumpier in the Garage Controller App but to their credit YoLink customer service helped me trouble shoot the issue (turned out to be my mistake in setup), was quick to respond and thorough in their explanation of how to correct the setup. The fact they stuck with me closely to get the setup right speaks volumes for their commitment to their customers. This is the second YoLink product I have (water sensor is the other) and the ability of their devices to to reliably connect and communicate over long distances, through walls, from basement to garage is outstanding. Great products, great customer care...what more is there to ask for?

I've been wanting a way to monitor my garage door and close it remotely if I needed too. This is a good solution. I've looked at more expensive solutions but they either require a subscription or acted like a strange quasi remote that required "learning" codes or frequences.This is a great simple solution if you have a garage door opener that supports it, all it does is act like a simply switch relay, this works with simple garage doors that just use a simple doorbell style switch (once a circuit is complete it signals the garage door to operate). I love how this works in tandem with the yolink garage door sensor, in the app they merge into one page that shows you the status of your garage door along with the ability to open and close it. Very smart. Setup was fairly simple, just hook the controller to the same wires as your button, connect the power, and stick the sensor on the top most part of the garage door. Once everything is installed, just scan the devices QR codes in the app to add them to your home hub.Now I can monitor and control my garage remotely for any reason! Great solution. I also bought the yolink camera to use in my garage for extra peace of mind.

Easy to install and works perfectly.

The controller allows me to open and close the garage door remotely. It alerts me if the door is open for more than a defined amount of time. For example if I drive off and forget to close the door, or it bounces open without me noticing, at a predetermined amount of time, it alerts me that the door is still open. You can change the delay to more or less time at will. I like all my YoLink products.

Works as designed and was easy to install. Range like all there products is great. Wish YoLink had geofencing or they integrated with Smartthings better. There are work arounds at least.

I have grown to like all of the yolink products. And i already had a smart garage opener device i was using for one of my garage doors. But since i've already purchased so many other yolink products, i figured i might as well use them for my garage door. At the end of the day it does work. You can open your garage door remotely and throw the app. WIth my previous smart device you can set it up with geo locations so when i pulled up a few feet away from my house my garage door would open which I loved. Sadly this feature is not available with Yolinks version.If i never experienced it, it probably wouldn't matter. But its super convenient and the only reason I'm taking away a star. If you don't care about that, you'll love this device.PROS- Easy to set up- Can control your garage remotely. You can open or close it anywhere and know when its opened or closed.- Works almost instantly. No delays.- Great price- Works with google home without asking for a pin.CONS- No geolocation or geofencing. You can't set this up to open if you're within a certain range of your house.- The wire that plugs into your outlet should be longer. It's a little short.- I mentioned this works with google home/google assistant and it doesn't ask you for a pin when you ask the smart speaker to close or open your garage door. But it will ask you are sure you want to open your door. I guess its a safety feature. I'm not sure if its a Google or yolink thing but i wish I could disable it.

Easy to set up and pair the two devices into one app display

It is impossible to have compatibility issues with any brand as this should be wired directly into the door opener or the button activating the opener. But amazon schooled me about what i should and what should not say, such woke level they've reached. So, i am redoing my review because amazon does not like me to talk any other way than the supreme leader approves. It is easy to integrate in the LoRa network that the YoLink main hub uses to communicate with as many as approximately 200 devices possible to connect to. Besides laying the cables around and figuring your placement(s) this is so easy to install, just scan, do a bit of typing, test, and enjoy. I am not even using the remote that came with my door opener. I find that the YoLink app makes the door opener respond a tad faster to the commands. The part involving your hub and your network should also be no brainer. Either wifi the hub into your router or hard wire it (preferable) and it still is an easy method. Only the main YoLink hub will solicit your internet connection with some bits and bites. Everything else works on the LoRa technology that YoLink claims to use for its devices. The app has a bit of learning curve as you discover options that you want/need. Can't wait to test the smoke/CO detector in the "elderly quarters". You ain't gettin' no video anymo' cuz amaz-ON ain't liking mah way o' tawkin'...so, overall i am very happy with YoLink. Eric (who seems omnipresent/omniavailable) is very pleasant & responsive to any questions (that i had) almost to exhaustion. Documentation is available online, and not too bad. Just pay attention to how you wire the controller. Red always on the left side of the two connections, and make sure it goes red-to-red... good luck. Thank you YoLink.
