Although this states it's for a garden hose or pressure washer, I saw other reviewers using it for the same purpose that I did. Our well gets varying levels of sediment depending on the water table and time of year...we got sick of cleaning the sediment screen on our washing machine every load and looked for work arounds.This exceeded my expectations. We typically have 6-8 loads of wash to do at a time, and this made it through our entire laundry day routine with no issues. You have no idea the joy something so stupidly simple brings us!Per the instructions - we turn off the water supply between wash days to prevent damage to the filter, and clean it and allow to dry afterwards as well.The only issue we had was a small leak, but we fixed that with some plumber's tape on the threads.

I use well water to water my garden and sometimes there is sediment in it which will stop up my spray nozzles, This has been a major time saver for me. Just unscrew the base, flush it out and screw it back together. The unit is well made comes with a extra SS screen. It works great and has great water flow. A great value

I use this device attached to a hose, when filling my RV water tanks. It gives me basic 40-micron sediment filtration. Inside my RV I have a 5-micron pleated filter, and in the kitchen, I have a 0.5-micron filter with a special faucet for drinking water.It works very well. I sometimes get small particles caught in the filter, but most water is pretty clean and it doesn't catch anything.THe screw-on filter housing has a rubber o-ring seal, so it only needs to be hand-tight BUT, it can leak if the threads have grit on them. So I use plumber's silicone grease on the threads, so it goes on easily, and never leaks.

This filter does a fine job of filtering debris that frequently clogs our sprinklers, especially soaker hoses. It attaches easily to the hose bib, unscrews to empty the chamber and clean the filter media. It pays for itself in less than a month.

This is the second one I ordered. The first developed a crack in the filter canister. Beside the crack that was NOT a manufacturing defect, the filter worked fine. This new one didn’t seal and water leaked from the canister. The canister was retreaded and tightened two more times and it still leaked. I returned it.

Appears to be well made with quality fittings. The main body is sturdy, and the filter cup feels like it might be made of polycarbonate, but the manufacturer would probably boast about that. My only minor complaint is that the O-ring was put in dry. If you want to unscrew the filter cup with ease in the future, lube the O-ring with silicone grease/spark plug boot grease.

I had this installed inline after the ball valve on my rain catchment system and it broke after 6 months. I opened the ball valve and water shot out of the top of this filter. Then I noticed the threaded section tore. Completely unacceptable.Update 3/6/2025 - Adding 2 stars because the company did right by me and sent me a refund. They also offered a replacement.

The filter is easy to install and is doing a good job. I especially like that it’s easy to unscrew and clean out. And with the clear tube you can see when it’s time to do that. My photo is a little deceiving; it makes it look like the filter is full of sand – it’s not. But the sand was definitely lining the walls. Great value for the money.
