I purchased these bags to cover the large blossoms of squash plants in order to avoid cross pollination for seed saving purposes. It looks like the mesh will be fine enough to exclude all flying insects and they seem to be well made. It will be as easy as selecting some blossoms the night before they bloom and slipping these bags over. The next morning, I'll remove the bags, hand pollinate, and replace the bag on the female blossom. The bag gets removed once the blossom falls off, at which point I'll loosely tie a piece of garden twine around the stem to identify the fruit for seed saving. I'm looking forward to putting these to good use this coming gardening year! I may also use a few for their actual purpose and protect the few apples I get on my tree each year. :)

Works well for my use. Kept birds from damaging my fig crop.

Best way to prevent apple maggots and coddling moth is to individually bag each apple when they are about the diameter of a quarter. These work, and are sturdy. They are not easy to put on though. And though durable enough to re-use, it is hard to untie the knot you made so you can remove from the apple and reuse. I have found that the nylon bags that look like the end of ladies' nylons work better, and can be quickly and easily attached with the little rubber bands used by orthodontists for braces.

A little stiff and don’t always stay ‘tight’ around the fruit

These were a little small for our apple tree but were very efficient at keeping out the pests. They would be best on stone fruits that don't get so large. Will be trying them next season on apricots, plums and nectarines. Good product

I ordered these to protect fruits and vegetables from rodents. They were a different brand from what I had ordered before, and though they appeared to be similar, they are useless. The drawstrings are too slippery to stay in place, and rodents are able to chew through the fabric and eat the fruit/vegetables. A complete waste of money.

As advertised, a couple things to know… first, the size is accurate as stated 4 x 6, so that means the circumference of what you put in the bag has to be 8” or less. If you take a string or cloth tape measure around the widest part, that will help you pick the right size bag. That’s like a small apple or large plum, so you might want the larger bag size if you’re covering big apples, oranges or other larger fruit. The bags are well made, no rips or missing seams in our batch of 100. The ties are loosely looped into a knot upon arrival so you can pull the knot tight if you plan to use it like a drawstring bag, or you can untie the ends and knot the bag around a branch, which I thought was a clever way for them to offer options on how you’ll fasten the bag. The strings were plenty long to reach around a branch and tie it tight.

The squirrels eat through the bag or attack the fruit inside the bag to the extent that the fruit is no longer edible. Also, after tying the enclosed fruit sometimes breaks off the stem and rots at the bottom of the bag.
