A Gem of a Media Player
I seriously considered getting a more expensive media box, but I'm glad I didn't. This does everything I need and is fast at doing it. It's far better than my Roku, which for years I praised to anyone who'd listen. Two suggestions: First, get the PonyBro keyboard remote. There's nothing wrong with the remote this comes with but the 2.4 Ghz lets you not have to point the remote at the device and the keyboard makes life so much easier. Second, download a new loader. The one on this is perfectly functional but is ugly as sin. There are free ones in the Play Store but I spent all of three bucks to get Top TV Launcher II, which is very customizable and easy to use.

Was not expecting this to be as bad as it is...
This isn't even 720p from what I can tell. My $30, 1080p Roku has a *significantly* sharper and better quality image on the same services (such as YoutubeTV). Content freezes & stops playback after an hour or so on this as well. No heat issues, but stability issues for sure. I do not have these issues on Amazon Fires or Roku devices. The main screen also doesn't let you choose what apps go where. You can add more to the bottom, but from what I can tell, that's it. No slimming it down to 2 or 3 apps and no removing things you don't want - such as the giant tiles for music and "clean memory" (that last bit should have been my warning sign about how stable this thing was going to be....)If you try to add anything to it that requires a lock screen, you can add one of those as well, but the main screen will always come up, and your apps will be missing until you go into settings and try to make changes to get the lock screen to come up. This thing feels like a *very* early attempt at something that could be great, but isn't yet - Like Windows 8 but 10x worse. If you do buy one of these and for some reason like it, at least get a wireless keyboard with an integrated mouse. Rii makes one that's alright, small, and under $20 right here on Amazon. Then toss this things remote in the drawer to collect dust forever....if you make more than 2 dollars an hour, the value of your time will pay for the wireless keyboard on the first day of ownership.Personally, I can see how this could be useful in a limited scenario, or for testing things, but if an even less expensive Roku or Fire Stick doesn't do the job for you, a Chromecast and an old fifty dollar Galaxy S5 beats this by a long shot, and is worth every penny of the few extra dollars that it costs.

Bought several over the past couple of years
Not because they go bad, but because I keep giving them to friends and family! These devices are very handy for watching video content you have using the Kodi application. I have several videos on a home server and I have an X96 box in my bedroom, office, garage, etc. Very small and powerful device. Have even been able to stream 4k content. The last time I purchased this, it didn't come with the remote IR sensor. These help as you can mount the box behind your TV and put the sensor on the front frame or on the side (the reason for only 4 stars instead of 5). I've also configured Pandora so I can listen to my music wherever I am that there is a TV without draining my phone.

My particular box may be flawed.
My buddies box works great. Mine is not freezing or buffering, however, it's as if the programs were on video tape, and someone pulled out the tape and crinkled it. The audio and picture is so horrible, you cannot watch a single program. I've tried different builds, narrowed the problem down to the particular box. Nothing is working to fix the problem. Would like a different box or a refund, but I'm afraid my time to return is up. I cannot suggest this box at this time. Addendum: I have contacted the seller, they have definitely made things right, immediately! This is extremely impressive to me, I love doing business with companies more concerned with customer satisfaction, than profits! I give the business itself, 5 stars!! I will revisit my review as soon as I receive and set up the new box. Again, I am almost certain it is an isolated problem, not the box design.

Mediocre... maybe worse.
I actually thought this android box would be better than the fire stick. The UI is terrible at best. I'm trying to find a launcher to use. I haven't looked yet but I'm hopeful that I'll find one. I wouldn't have thought that it would be so difficult going thru the menu's or scrolling thru apps. The stock interface needs a Major overhaul. The remote control is slow or hardly works as it should. It's non responsive when pressing the buttons. I found an android remote app on the play store. Haven't tried it yet but it can't be worse. If you want an android box for streaming, this one should be passed on. Try another brand name or go with a FireTV or Stick...just for Amazon having a better remote.

Worked as expected
I wanted to run a specific android program and this did the trick, the only thing is that my wireless did not want to work on it, I had to physically connect it with a ethernet cable, I did not want to have to return it and then wait again. Other than that it has been working good, the mouse is a bit of a pain but the price is good so can't complain.

Great android TV BOX
I was a little skeptical at first on what this small device can do but I am so glad that I purchased it. I used to use chromecast to cast youtube and stream my videos from my phone but now I can just use this box to surf youtube and watch any of my recorded videos dircetly. Best thing is it works with my Hdhomerun and I can now watch live TV show and recorded ones anytime I want. Love the little gadget. I can also download most of the free android app from playstore and use it just like on computer except with my big HD TV screen

Both boxer purchased would not stay connected to wifi or ethernet
Could not get either box to stay connected to wifi or ethernet. I have purchased HUNDREDS of android boxes and this is the 1st time experiencing this. Even went as far as connecting some older boxes I had to make sure it was not my internet provider, and sure enough they worked great. I emailed 2 to 3 times the seller with NO RESPONSE, then reached out to Amazon customer service and NO HELP there. Just wish QC was better with sellers so it avoids wasting time and $ on both the seller and buyers end.
