PC Access Software - End User Version - HAI SOFTWARE ACCESS ENDU ACCESS SW FOR WINDOWS

USER HOMEOWNER Version - Consider Dealer Version
Note this is the End User or Homeowner version of the software. If I was to do it again (no refunds) I would buy the Dealer version. Now keep in mind this was designed prior to Windows 7 and was ported over to Win7 later, so the menus are a little nerdy but OK. This is primarily for the home owner to archive the configuration files of the Omni Pro II and to do sequencer type programming of Units (Dimmers etc) and Zones (Security sensors like Motion detectors). Leviton really pushes UPB but I ended up having both ZigBee and UPB in my house, and may add Zwave. If you have the Notifier board, you need to download the firmware update to make it show up in the PC Access. Also note, this is NOT used to configure UPB, that is done with UP Start UPB software provided free by your UPB device (unit) supplier. That stated it is kind of fun to play with.

Dont waste your money. Buy the dealer version
If you are looking to program your leviton system, this is probably not going to cut it. I purchased it thinking it could add devices, sensors, etc because nowhere does it say what is missing from the software. Contacted the seller via email to find out if there was an upgrade path, no reply. I had to purchase the higher end software which was not crippled, throwing away this purchase. Not happy with leviton anything because nearly every product I purchased for the hai features has been hit with "oh, you will need this also" to do that. Where is the truth in advertising? It says it does that in the advertisement! It doesn't say it does that if you purchase A and B and C and D. Not happy with the lack of honesty.

Just barely okay
This is effectively a must-have if you own a HAI home automation system, and unfortunately the software is both expensive, poorly designed, and hard to use. It's certainly a step up from programming via control panels, but it could be a whole lot better.

Thought it was perfect for my needs...
UPDATED 11/11/14I purchased this a year ago to control my home security system, a HAI Omni unit.Given that this is basically an OEM with disc only, I was happily surprised that all documentation could be quickly downloaded from HAI's website.I had it working on my network minutes after installation, and it seemed pretty straight forward to use. I was looking forward to being able to automate some of the features in my home with this that weren't set up by the overall automation installer. This let me have more control over what my HAI does, and when it does it. I originally thought it a great, nearly essential addition to any HAI system.Fast forward to a year later when I purchased an Omni email Notifier board so I could receive email and sms updates of the home security functions and also set up some other cool automation messages. (Garage door open notifications, etc...) I spent hours of my time trying to figure out why the board wasn't recognized by the software - it seemed simple enough, and the instructions noted that the items displayed would populate when the notifier board was connected. This was simply not the case. The End User software is crippled to require that you call your original installer to set up the "more complicated" things.I then realized, after paying the original automation installer for two hours of labor, that I could have EASILY performed the same action myself had I purchased the DEALER version of PC Access. Granted the dealer software costs $180, and this was much less, but I would have saved that amount had I simply gone for the more robust version of the software. Not only that, but during the install, it was brought to my attention that there were many other features lacking in the End User version that render it simply a waste of money.Steer clear of this version if you're serious about accessing and managing your HAI Omni system from your PC (or at all). It's a waste of money. You'll still have to call out your installer to make changes to your system.
