Perfect for Authentic English Crumpets Recipe
The finishing on the rings is nice, and they are hefty enough not to worry about them. I gave them a sudsy cleaning and wipe down before using. To use I wiped them inside and out with cooking spray on a paper towel, then a light spray while in the pan. The way the crumpets slipped right out when I pulled up the ring was better than I had hoped for, and I realized I probably didn't need as much spray. The trick for not having batter run under the edges was to make sure the edges were completely on the flat part of the pan and first heating up the rings in the pan before adding the batter so it cooks quickly at the outer bottom edges. The little handles are convenient to do a half rotation while cooking to evenly cook the bottoms. Cleanup was easy, with a rinse and wipe (given how smooth and seamless the rings are), but it's nice to know I could put them in the dishwasher too. I had hoped these would work well for my use, and after trying, I'm obviously happy and ordering more so I can get two pans going at once.

Be careful on the first use!
First off, a beautiful product that exhibits good workmanship. These egg rings could end up being family heirlooms, passed down the generations. The unpleasant aspect that cost a star is the finish on the top and bottom of the rings. The production process for these egg rinds seems fairly obvious. A stainless steel cylinder is sawn into rings. After the ring is was cut, very little effort was made to remove the rough sawed edge. I cut myself while cleaning the rings before the first use.Don’t get me wrong, for the price, a good deal. I used a convex metal file to remove the burrs. A brief warning in the instructions would have warned users to inspect their product. Thus the star reduction.

EGGCELLENT!!! So yummy egg!
A few tips and reminder. First make sure your eggs are fresh to avoid the yolk and the white from too runny and leaking out of the ring. Next, make sure to butter or oil the ring all around. Next put a little oil in the pan, I used my cast iron pan. Set the stove to med. and place your egg ring while the pan is heating up. Both pan and the ring will start to heat up at the same time. Wait for 3 mins, then break the eggs inside the ring. You will hear a sizzle when you do this..,meaning the pan is hot. Sprinkle salt, and turn the heat to low. Wait until the egg sets to you desired doneness. I like mine slightly runny. Sprinkle pepper and serve. This ring is excellent! It is well made, thick and edges are not sharp. It has weight to it, which is good. Stainless steel is better than non stick I think if you use it properly because, if it is non stick, I worry that the coating might come off over time like some of my baking pans. Try this egg rings ang follow my tips. You will not be disappointed. If it stick a little, that means you did not oil or butter your ring properly. If it does stick a little, just use a thin knife and carefully go around the edges and you will have a perfectly beautiful cooked egg all the time. No more egg mcmuffin for me. Sorry Mcdonald. :)

These work great, well made, solid build but make sure you use a FLAT surface at temp to cook./
I love these rings as there are many available but these looked best made and reasonable price. Just wish they had the free fingertip mit that others have. You cannot remove from the pan while hot with fingers.Other reviews that say they leak are due to the user not using a flat pan...when it is at cooking temp. Many pans will dome in the middle when they get hot and the surface will no longer be flat so of course there will be a gap at some point between the ring and the pan. Also, you need a large pan to fit 4 of these in at a time and have them flat on the pan surface.TO USE 4 RINGS AT ONE TIME YOU NEED 7 INCHES OF FLAT SURFACE IN DIAMETER WHEN THE PAN IS HOT!One option is if you just under as most skillets will be is to place the rings in the pan getting them pre-heated. Push them around so that one is flat, put in your egg. Wait about 30 seconds and carefully slid it then repeat the process. You can use these for crumpets or as cookie cutters.

Crumpets!
I bought these because I wanted to learn to make crumpets. When we visited England a few years back, we fell in love with the pillows, luscious breakfast bread. Who knew they were so easy to make? After lamenting for years that we missed them, and finding English muffins to be neither English, not proper muffins, I finally decided to try crumpets. And then the pandemic hit and Warburtons released their hundred year old plus recipe - the perfect storm. And what do you know? So easy! And these are perfect for turning out delicious crumpets - then just toss in the dishwasher!

Work great
When used correctly, these work great. There is no seam for food to get stuck in, if you preheat the pan with the rings in it, then spray them inside with cooking spray, they are pretty much non stick and they clean up very easily. The only downside is trying to pick them up when they are hot, you need pliers or a hotpad. It would be nice if there was a silicone sleeve that you could slip on to lift them. So far I've made english muffins and have cooked eggs in them to go on the muffins. You need a pan with a flat bottom for the eggs or some will run out of the bottom of the rings.

Work quite well for crumpets
I bought these to make crumpets -- though I may use them for omelettes too -- and they worked great. Three fit in one 10.5 inch iron skillet, but that's fine. I followed other suggestions to spray them, and let them heat up in the pan before pouring the batter in -- this helped ensure that no batter leaked out the bottom. Anyone getting leaks may have not heated them up enough OR you're putting too many in the pan. All 4 do kind of fit in a 10.5 inch skillet IF I don't care that they're not entirely flat, which is a big problem if you don't want leakage. And I love the lip on them too. All around, very pleased.

Heat the rings with your pan
Eggs cooked over low-medium-low heat (well set, but with no crispy edges) do not stick at all. Eggs cooked hot enough to sizzle and bubble stick a bit, but can be released easily with a butter knife. I heated the rings with the pan (to avoid sticking, treating this like any other stainless steel item) and added oil just before the eggs.I had no leaking from under the bottom of the rings (using a carbon steel pan--more textured pans may see different results)They're a great size for English muffins.
