Great pack, great quality, great organization of gear
Awesome pack! Very tall but not so deep it looks like a turtle shell, no need for compression straps. The hidden mollie webbing is great for other than tactical applications, hood pen / scissors / carabiner holders. The shoulder straps are a little wide and rigid but very sturdy. Yes a Nalgene bottle will fit!!Conceal carry pocket is HUGE and loop side Velcro wall on one side works well. Don’t know if I will use it for that or my laptop. This pack has a full clamshell opening so you can get to everything. With so much organization and lots of loops on the straps for attaching gear, it has great features for OCD peopleOverall the is a great EDC backpack or specific uses pack. Would probably make a good range bag or EMT pack but not a high volume bug out bag. This will be my EDC+ Boy Scout Camping day pack.Big complaint / wishlist for upcoming versions:The side pockets behind the water bottle sleeve are useless if you have a water bottle in use. You have to pick one ,the pocket or the sleeve but not both.I would like to See loops on the bottom to run strap through. I like to take an ultra light camp chair and never have a good place to put it.Is it worth the $$$$??? It is all perspectives. The quality and thought of the layout say yes.If you just need an EDC backpack for a computer and a few other small items and you are not hard on your gear ( outdoors mostly) it is still worth it but may not be practical for everyone.

Fantastic bag with a ton of EDC features.
Can’t tell you how much I like this pack! It’s been great. Used it for a few months now, I’ve traveled with it, hiked with it, and carried it around to work every week day. Tons of space and organization without being overwhelming or too big.Obviously if you’re looking at this you understand that it’s a very tactically oriented bag, but does not scream ‘tactical’ by having webbing all over it.The hidden webbing area in the front is brilliant. Let’s me keep a first aid/trauma kit, a TQ, and a dual AR mag pouch 100% out of sight but still very accessible. The side pockets are great for smaller organization areas. If I had one complaint it would be that as others have said, if the side pockets are full or even half full, it makes it nearly impossible to put a water bottle in the outer ‘sleeve’ area. So I keep one side pocket less full than the other to accommodate my water bottle.

Very nice bag ! Not too big
Love it ! Super high quality material. Just a tad bit smaller than I expected, which is perfect cause I actually thought there was a chance it would be too bit because of YouTube reviews I’ve seen !If you’re looking for a very large bag, this isn’t it

Great product, comfortable, and lots of built in features
Awesome bag. The full open front is great, the various levels of organization in each pouch are amazing, and the water bladder insert will likely come in handy soon. Laptop pouch isn't as secure as I'd like but my laptop is a tank so I'm not super worried there. Overall very satisfied with this purchase, but I think this would have been an amazing deal if it were a tad less expensive, especially considering the cost of their other accessories they want you to buy with it.

It would be five stars if only ...
So the pros are that Vertx really use heavy duty quality materials for this and I am sure their other products do as well. The construction is well thought out. The seams are double stitched and the zippers are good quality. The straps are wide & cushioned which distributs the packs weight nicely with the built-in yoke. It is comfortable even with a heavy load inside. The cons amount too one thing and that one thing is the buttons. When I say buttons I mean the sort of buttons that on one side have a post and on the other side is a donut that when you press them together they snap. Specifically those buttons on the large front zipper pocket (the ones that when unziped revels the molle webbing). There are a set of zippers on either side of the large front flap. The zippers have a leather tabs with one side of the button inset in them located on the inside of the zipper pull. The buttons on either side of that flap snaps to the underside of the large handle on the front of the bags with the leather accent. The buttons are there to stop someone from just jerking the cordera pull tab down and dumping everything that is loose in the pocket on to the ground. The buttons when I attempted to unbutton them from the front flap for the first time and it immediately pulled away from the pack staying attached to the leather zipper tabs on both sides. So the posts are snapped to the donut and both sides of the buttons are in the leather zipper pulls. If you can follow my poor explanation.Thinking that it was just a fluke I returned the pack and ordered a replacement. Only to have the buttons do the exact same thing. It only has happened with those two buttons there are other ones elsewhere on the pack that I have had no issue with.Regardless I kepted the bag and don't worry about it. I have some molle pouches that I keep stuff in and make sure that there isn't anything loose in that "pocket". It is clearly a manufacturing defect of some sort. I don't know how the buttons are attached (sewn, glued, etc.) But with the slightest pull they do not stay attached.

Great bag
Bought this for my son at his birthday. We researched every similar option for daily carry of the usual items. This is made well. Great stitching, zippers, and convenient placement of pockets, etc. Its pricey, but looks like it will last a long while. Ask me in ten years.

Very well thought out!
You can tell this back pack had lots of planning around functionality and layout. I’ve been using it now for 4 weeks and I have something important in each compartment. In my previous 5.11 backpack I’d put things in certain pocket holders never to be seen again by the light of day mainly because, out of sight out of mind. But this pack gives you good visibility. The side pockets are totally covered but once you zip down the outer layer you can see and utilize whatever is stored there. I use the back portion of the backpack to conceal carry and that’s been such a nice addition.

Works well.
Nice bag. Mine did get a hole in the front from sliding in the back of my truck. Other wise pretty tough bag.
