I bought this burner for an outdoor kitchen because I didn't like the flimsy side burners that come with BBQ grills.This item is very solid, heavy and very nice. It comes with the connections needed to add to my existing grill.

This is my second single side burner by Lion. The first is installed by the pool deck next to the Lion 48" rotisserie grill and the second is up on the main deck by the Primo Grill. This one arrived with one minor hiccup. The ceramic starter element was cracked all the way through between the upper plate and the retention plate and it wouldn't start the burner if it was moist outside. The spark would ground out below the fuel source. It was impossible to see in daylight so I waited until night to see where the discharge was going. If I didn't already have one installed elsewhere I wouldn't have known that the igniter is NOT supposed to wiggle freely and be loose. It is NOT supposed to pull through if touched. So I called Lion and described the problem to the technician and they shipped me a replacement immediately. Awesome service by Lion! They walked me through the disassembly / reassembly and I was fully operational in 5 minutes.

Appears to be good quality overall and had great packaging for shipment, received with no damage, which is something their competitors have been unable to do.My only complaint is that there are spot welds on the face that seem to have a very small level of corrosion and take away some of the attractiveness of the stainless steel. Probably form the carbon steel spot welder and the weren't passivized after the welding was completed to remove any carbon steel that was impregnated into the surface.

Good product for the money

Purchased this unit for an outdoor kitchen. Fully enclosed cabinet, stainless steel access doors and drawer units, granite counters, etc. It's a beautiful setup and with the Big Green Egg next to it it's a BBQ dreamland. The kitchen island is outdoors, i.e. not covered, but completely weatherproof. Well, read on because apparently not completely...The positives:1) The unit arrived in good condition and on time.The Negatives:1) The gas knob lettering is upside down. We requested a replacement and it is also upside down. Ok, we can live with that right? I called the manufacturer and they said "we don't sell on Amazon, so go talk to them because it has nothing to do with us". Nice, eh? I called a distributor here in Ohio and they said the manufacturer doesn't sell parts for their units, so I'd have to buy a whole new one and swap out the knob. Ridiculous. At least they were apologetic and tried to help.2) There is no regulator. So go to your big home improvement store and spend another $15... but wait! If you want to do stir frys or actually be able to boil a pot of water, get a high output regulator! (Bayou sells one for $21).3) And now the biggie... YOU ALL PAY ATTENTION TO THIS...there are 4 holes in the base pan that the grate nest sits on. These holes protrude through the bottom. So if you get a spill over, all the liquid goes where? Yeah, you guessed it... inside your cabinet. Haha, so just don't have spill overs you say? Read on...4) The lid cover does not fit. Look at the picture and see the raised lip that goes around the edge? The cover actually is the same diameter as the lip, so when it rains, the base pan fills with water. Normally this would just be an inconvenience, but remember there are 4 holes drilled into the pan, so guess where all the rain water goes: drips into your beautiful "weatherproof" cabinet.Summary: Clearly all of these negatives are simple quality control. Its too bad because the unit is pretty solid and might actually be worth the $279.I would not recommend this unit if you are installing in an uncovered area.

I very much like the burner and use it quite frequently, but I have found a serious issue with longevity. I keep it clean and covered when not in use, but there is something in the burner element that is prone to corrosion. Gas begins to escape from around the burner ring and it will not stay lit. This is not a one-time issue. The same thing has happened to two burners now. To make matters worse, there is no way I can find to simply replace parts. Having to replace this very expensive burner every few years is a huge issue.

Quality burner love the lion bbq as well and refrigerator everything looks great on my new bbq island

Cooked on this for the first time and it was awesome.
