Man I was so excited to get this! I took it out of the package and everything looked great. Nice materials nothing felt cheap. And then I put my matte box on and my t2i sits too low so my lens doesn't line up properly. That annoyed me but I thought there must be some way to elevate the camera a tad to line it up. I was willing to figure that out. And then my FOLLOW FOCUS BROKE!!!I get it fully assembled and as I am turning my follow focus it breaks. It has free play now when I turn it and you can hear inside it slipping on the gear. It must be a cheap plastic gear inside because how on earth could this break so quickly not even having given it a rest run?!! So disappointed because I thought I had a great piece of gear. Oh well.***UPDATE 14 DECEMBER 2012***I decided to update my review after discovering something. This comes with about six or so thin metal plates. These metal plates can be put into the base which will elevate your dslr to where you need to to be. I had an issue with my t2i sitting too low, but after figuring out that these plates can elevate the base that the camera sits on it fixed that issue. It's in the instructions too so I can't really complain about that. However, my FOLLOW FOCUS did break. It looks like there is a way to open it up but I am not sure of the tool needed, so I'm going to figure this out. This product IS WELL CONSTRUCTED other than the FOLLOW FOCUS. The only complaint the follow focus construction is the gear inside. the other parts seem to be made of quality materials. the matte box shades are metal and the matte box itself is a mix of metal and plastic. Given the fact that my only issue is fixing my follow focus and the rest of the unit is well built, I have changed my ONE STAR to a FOUR STAR which I think it fair. I should not have had a follow focus break on me before I even gave this a test run for the price I paid. I was going to return this, but have decided to keep it because I can't beat the price for the quality.

Just feels cheap. Lots of plastic pieces. You can not user a DSLR zoom lens with this piece. Spend the money on a nicer unit

this product is excelent, I have worked without any problems and has very good performance, apart from its good quality and presentation in your bag for safe transportation. recomientdo as 100%

I got this product a couple of weeks ago.Have used it on two shoots.1. Music Video2. WeddingI had a Canon 7d on it. It is heavy but comfy. The rig feels solidIt does have some plastic pieces but remember there are shoulder mounts that cost 5000+This rig should be 4 stars the reason I am giving 5 is because of the service I received from the seller.I was missing a piece that was mistakenly left out, I send an email and got a response the same day the piece luckily came before my first shoot.The piece was the top flag of the matte box.It is a good rig not great but again look at the price. Also need a heavy tripod for this FOR SURE.

This rig has not let me down. I'm writing my review some two years after the purchase. The mattbox made a clinking sound at times depending on how you moved. To combat the sound, I used electric tape and formed it around the edges of the sharp points on the matte box. absolutely zero sounds. I did wish it came with a counter weight to balance the rig; however I order other parts over time to tailor this to my exact specification. Is this a good kit to purchase. YES. I bought this when it was $700.00. Everything works on this rig the way it should.

This rig is very nice. The mat box could be a lot better but it holds two glass filters. The focusing also works very well with all my lenses. Shoulder mount is fantastic. At some point I will replace the mat box with a nicer one. I will also replace the focus with something I can adjust the tension on. It is also worth noting that you can not use an eyepiece on a DSLR camera with this shoulder-mount, at least I haven't found a reasonable way yet. Despite these small things for a rig around $700 this couldn't be better. I will get another one with my second 5d mark iii.

Its nice overall, but don't expect high quality materials,. The most important flaw is that the matte box is really small, i mean my canon lens doesn't fit through the hole, so this is one mayor flaw that needs to be corrected. Aside from that is really cheap in comparison to the competition, and the follow focus works well. its heavy and the rails are made of solid metal. maybe i expected too much of it, i would still recommend to buy if you don't have the money.

This is the perfect professional rig for DSLR Cinematography. Its a lot cheaper than any Red Rock Micro bundle and it works exactly the same.
