Not much different than using a bow without it, ...
Not much different than using a bow without it, and found out later after trying a few different ones that the most effective design of a stabilizer is to build it in this order (from the connection to the bow): a stiff light tube of carbon fiber (carbon fiber has vibration absorption characteristics, something I was already aware of as a photographer), a flexible rubber dampener, adjustable weights. This doesn't work very well because it's not designed correctly. I returned this and went with a Doinker.
